Complete Godot 3D: Code Your Own 3D Games In Godot 4!

Why did I take the course?

This was the second Godot focused course after some months away from the engine. I chose it because I wanted to get a more holistic feeling for how the engine was and get more exposure to the 3D aspects of the engine. I felt that this course offers a good amount of content for it given that you work on three separate projects, one being a space ship lander, the second being a simple tower defense game and the third being a FPS

How did I feel about it?

At at the end of the course I was pleasantly surprised with how much more of an understanding I have about NavMeshes and NavAgents. I had tried explore this area in the past with a Game Jam game, but it was based in Unity and I think I spent far too long on it. This experience broke it down a lot better and has given me enough confidence to move forward with my own games.

Future Actions

Because of this course I am going to rewrite one of my Game Jam games Perilous Purr-il which is a game that I enjoyed the concept of but ran out of time implementing. This game was originally written in Unity and used a handful of assets from the Unity store, such as the cat which came with free animations. This rewrite will be using the Animation Tree provided by Godot as well a lot of the features that I liked.
